In Dune series, there are many forces and families. It is the interests and grievances between them that form one wonderful story after another in this desert world.
One of the core conflicts in the plot is undoubtedly the dispute between the two major families, Atreides and Harkonnen, and this classic setting is also continued in the game Dune: Awakening.
In Dune: Awakening, as a player, you can choose to form your own faction to independently investigate the secrets of Fremen, but more people usually choose to join one of Atreides and Harkonnen.
Due to the character creation tendency of the series of movies, House Atreides seems to have more fans, so maybe you will also want to be loyal to them in the game. But joining this noble faction is not just a matter of words, you need to complete a series of tests in the game.
How To Find House Atreides?
Dune Awakening will not ask you to choose a faction to join at the beginning, but allows you to complete tasks first, accumulate enough Dune: Awakening items, and then choose a faction based on your own strength and considerations after completing specific tasks.
Different factions have different coordinates. If you want to join House Atreides, you can follow the steps below:
- Head to Anvil trade post in the eastern Vermillius Gap.
- Trigger and watch the battle animation between Atreides envoy Lieutenant Anton Tolliver and Harkonnen envoy Levenbrech Maxim Kazmir.
- After the battle, you can talk to these two people and choose a representative faction to join.
How To Join House Atreides?
After you talk to Anton Tolliver and express your desire to join House Atreides, he will ask you to prove your determination and loyalty by completing four tasks. After completing them, you can not only successfully join the faction, but also get rewards.
The Missing Spy
This quest requires you to travel to Vermillius Gap region and investigate the whereabouts of a missing spy, and then report the information to Anton Tolliver. Here are the specific steps to complete it:
- Reach to the south of Anvil trade post.
- Travel to the rock formation marked on the map.
- Climb up the surface of the rock formation and find a small camp.
- There is a corpse and a recording in the target camp. Play the recording and remember the information in it.
- Return to Anton Tolliver and report to him.
It should be noted that in the process of searching for the camp, you will see many Kirab camps located in the sand, but the target camp is in a higher place, so don’t confuse them.
Test Of Prowess
After completing the first quest, Tolliver will tell you about the slave traders in the north of Anvil and ask you to kill ten slave traders as one of the proofs of your determination to join House Atreides.
There is more than one place where slavers appear in the game. You can travel to the place marked on the mission to complete it, or you can find other places with more slavers or reward you more Dune Awakening Solari to complete it.
Among them, Jabal Eifrit region in the north of Anvil is a more ideal place to complete the mission, especially the intelligence station here. After killing 10 slavers here, you can return to Tolliver to report.
It is worth noting that if you have a Holtzman Shield, it will be very helpful to complete this mission. It can provide you with effective defense and prevent you from being attacked by slavers.
Test Of Cunning
If the first two missions represent your “investigation” and “combat” abilities, then this mission requires you to have the qualities of a spy: you are required to find a Harkonnen agent Lanov and obtain information about House Harkonnen from him through skillful interrogation.
Lanov is located in Harkonnen fortress east of Anvil. He will stand under a small canopy. Since he is addicted to a drug called Semuta, you can utilize this to interrogate him, but be careful not to be too violent, otherwise you will scare Lanov and fail the mission.
During the interrogation, you need to choose the correct dialogue options in the following order to get the information you want:
- “Now there’s a man who’s deep into his Semuta.”
- “Yeah, you’re swimming in it. Wouldn’t remember my face in five minutes.”
- “A musician who knows how to play it is worth their weight in spice.”
- “Maxim Kazmir sent me to observe you.”
- Do not choose “Goodbye” to complete the interrogation.
Test Of Loyalty
Through the previous mission, you got the information that Maxim Kazmir is also a drug addict. Then you can collect more evidence to threaten him.
- Talk to Tolliver again to learn the location of a Semuta den in the western Vermillius Gap.
- Go west to Imperial Testing Station 13, go down to the bottom floor, and collect two access bracelets in the side room.
- Go through the purple door.
- Semuta den is behind the door. Defeat the enemies here.
- Find evidence of Maxim’s use of Semuta in a box on the carpet next to a small fire pit at the back of the room.
- Return to Anvil, and hand everything over to Tolliver to successfully join House Atreides.
In fact, until all the tasks are completed, you still have the opportunity to temporarily defect to House Harkonnen, but the difficulty of joining will become higher. And if you regret it again, it will be more difficult to win Tolliver’s trust again.
In general, these tasks are not difficult to complete. The key is that you need to be consistent and don’t always change the family you want to join, otherwise it will be troublesome. I hope you can have a good time as a member of House Atreides!
